Reading a play is way different than just reading a book because you have parts, stage directions costumes and you have to read every body's part so you understand the play. It's simialr to a book because you have to read the whole entire thing to understand it, you don't just read one little part and then say your finished. I like plays, they are really fun to dress up and prefrom. If you have a larger role you have to know your lines and be prepared for them but, if you have a smaller role you still have to know your line but you don't have to be as aware as people with larger roles do. If I had to write a play I would write it to a little girl and make the title lost in Texas. It would be about 3 girls that are going to visit there mom in maryland ( they live in California) and on the way somehow they get lost in Texas
ReplyDeleteReading a play is different fromreading other texts is a play has a scrip and a book doesnt. Also a play has stage direction's and a book doesnt. I like that when you perform plays you get to dress up. I also like you get to perform in front of your class. I like a large roles and smaller roles because you get to perform one way or another. If i could write a play it would be called A Next Step in Life. It would be about these 2 girls going into middle school and how they learn to survive middle school.
ReplyDeleteWell reading a play is much more confusing because there are different characters. If you dont understand all of there personality's and traits its hard to understand the play. Instead of just sitting there reading a book we get to stand up and have fun. Also some parts are funny and embarrassing. I would want to have a short speaking role but a long acting role because I think acting is fun. Lacrosse and it would be about how lacrosse started. I think that would be a fun play to act and interesting to learn about. There would be a lot of Indians because those are the people who made up lacrosse.
ReplyDeleteI think reading plays is diffrent from other texts because there is stage directions and diffrent scenes in a play. For example, in my play it says some leaves but it is in prentheses and you are not supposed to read it but in other texts you would normally read that. What I like about my play is that I am in a big part in my play. I like preforming in a large part in front of a large crowd. If I wrote a play it would be about a life of a middle schooler going in to high school and all the challegs she has to face. The title of play would be " top of the world to the bottom of the 9th grade".
ReplyDeletereading a play is different than reading a book because the whole thing is dialogue. in a book there is a lot of narration but not that much in plays. i like to do bigger rolls because then you aren't just standing around staring at your feet. if i could create a play it would be about something funny.
ReplyDeleteI's different because the stage direction is different than the text packet. I prefer smaller rolls because people might get tired of your voice. I would name my play The summer vacation because I love summer SO MUCH. My play would be about going to the beach In Florida because It's always hot and relaxing there. I would make It when there in Florida there at the beach and enjoying there time

ReplyDeletereading a play is different from reading a text because, when you read a play, you read it with expression. and you don't have to with reading a text. Also when you read a play, there is dialogue. In my play, i like that i get to scream at belle and say "NO BELLE"
ReplyDeleteI like plays because you get to have a group and act things out. You also get to dress up like the person you are. I like to do small parts because you don’t have to memorize a lot. If I had to write a play it would about a kid that plays lacrosse and he gets the winning goal against Hotstix.

For example, I have to scratch my script to make my lyre sound, I get script burn on my fingers though.I like doing a small part in plays because I don't have to do anything extreme like fake kissing or pretending love. If I were to write a play, it's title would be "bribed to read" because I am actualy bribed to read. It would be about my bribery and how it didn't persuade me to read.

I don't know what kind of part I would like. It realy Doesn't matter if I do a large part or small part. The title would be The Kid who made Baseball. But I know it would be about baseball.

If I could write a play it would be about a boy named Freddy who finds a dog and goes to Texas and goes back in time to the Alamo and fights with the Texans. So that is why I think a play is different than regular books.
ReplyDeleteReading a play is way different than reading a text. In a play you have to move around and there is more than one person. Each person has a part to play. Plays are fun because you get to tell a story but you get to act it out to. I like to get a big role because I want to get noticed. If I made a play it would be called The New Criminal. Its about a 3 year old fired cop,marine,swat team person, and FBI. Then he becomes a criminal.
ReplyDeleteThere are some differences in reading a play and reading other types of texts. Some examples are listed here plays have a stage ,stage parts, also a big one is memorized lines you have to get in order or your whole play dose not make sense dose not make any sense. Reading a type of text requires you to do some basic reading routines’. I haven’t done a play for a while so this is sure to be exciting! I prefer a small part because when there is big part I think your pressured and I always feel like I’m the main thing ,and also the spot light is all on me. If I could write a play like Shakespeare and title it. It would be about a big decision a boy has to make. And the boy has to decide how to react to middle school expatiations .It would be called One Big Step.

ReplyDeleteIt is different because plays have parts and texts don't have parts. Plays have stage directions and books or texts and much more don't have stage directions. Plays have scenes and books have chapters. I like plays because you get to act it out. I like small roles. I like it because I don't like big roles because it can be confusing. If I could write a play it would be called MURDER! The play would be about some one trying to kill someone and try to frame someone else.

In the play I'm doing now I am chorus 1 and 2. I can't figure out what I would do if I could write a play.
ReplyDeleteReading a play is somewhat like reading a book because you still read left to right. Plays are different because its almost like a conversation. Plays also have scenes, instead of chapters. I like plays because you act out what is written instead of just sitting on a couch looking at words in a book. I like small parts because you have less responsibility(which is great for me!), and you don't have to say as much(what if you mess up on a big part). I would write a story about a llama in a banana costume named Chives that fights waffles who are doing crimes! The story takes place at a hotel in Las Vegas, were the monkey princess created evil waffle robots that shoot blue lasers out of there nose. Chives the llama learns how to be a ninja. Will chives beat the monkey princess or not!

If I were to make a play it would probably be on not doing drugs so kids wouldn't do drugs. small roles are better because you can take breaks and large ones are bad because u see the same stuff the whole time and different back rounds and clothes are better because it makes the feelings of the play more noticeable.

Also you read a book in your head and you read a play out loud. One more thing the length, one is longer than the other. Finally you act out plays and read books.
ReplyDeleteIts diffrent because when you read it, it says the person who is speaking its name befor it says what they sayed. I like how every one has a diffrent part to say insted of all of it. Small because i dont like to talk alot and because if I had a large role, I would have hard words and i dont like hard words. The title would be "Me and My Friend," and it would be about me and what my friends do like at recess play 4 square and we would kick a ball back and fourth to eacher other.

I like big parts because you get more time on the stage. If i could write a play it would be about a kid that is getting bullied and how he goes through his 5th grade life getting bullied

I like that you can actuly act out the parts indtead of reading it in your head. Also I like playing big parts because they are more fun. If I wrote my own play it would be called SHARK ATTACK! It would be about this girl who is at the beach all alone at night. Latly people have been killed by a great white. Then she doesn't see the shark coming up behind her. After that the shark eats her and, they have to stop the shark from killing every one else.

I like big parts better since you get to be on stage more. if i write a play it would be about a small family that was hiding since they are really royalty but they don't know it. I would call it The Royal Secret
ReplyDeleteReading a play different from reading a text because its separated into parts. But it is the same because it still has a problem, solution, setting and other elements of reading. I like acting out a part in a play and being the part for a while. I also prefer having a bigger part because I love acting so much and I want to be an actor when I grow up. If I could write a play about anything I would probably write about a mystery. The title would be mystery at the game. It will be about someone at a soccer game and they flatten all the balls and do other crazy things to destroy the game!

ReplyDeletePlays are different from other types of texts because of the way they are organized. Books are mostly set up by chapter, plays have scenes instead. Plus with plays they have assigned parts instead of regular book (Fiction or not). What I like about plays is they are more fun to read than ordinary books, they are also fun to act out. I prefer smaller parts in plays because I'm a little shy at school, at home, not really. If I could write a play it would be about a kid who lives in Kansas and wants to become a meteorologist. It would be called the kid of weather.

Then another guy found it and mixed it in his blood so when ever he got angry he blows up. But he controls his anger until he accidentally spills juice on his wedding dress and gets mad and blows up. THE END!

Reading plays is a lot different from reading books because in plays there are parts for each character. You only get one character so you have to read along so you know if it's your turn. I perfer having main parts because, with normal parts you have to wait for your turn. If I were to right a play it would be about some thing random like talking foods or flying ponies. The title for the food one would be Talking Foods, and the title for my pony one would be Misterious Flying Ponies
