Weekly Reader's Response Due Friday 5/27/11

You did an absolutely amazing job on your biography Living Museum presentations this week!
All of the visitors to the museum over Tuesday and Wednesday were so impressed with your
hard work and understanding of your topics.

What did you like about the presentations?  Is there anything you would change for future 5th grade
classes?  Give me your feedback in 5-7 sentences.

  1. I liked how we had poses, and we had a button. However after a while it was hard to stand in my position since it was hard to stand after a while. I think you should change that we need to repeat the same speech since it gets really boring saying the same thing again and again. But they all got the same information so it was fair. Also we should be able to take a stretch every now and then.

  2. I liked that we got to dress up as the character. I also liked that we got to make a button. I liked presenting it to the parents because they listen better. I didn't like that we had to find a book that was 100 or more pages long. Also we couldn't do someone that another class mate is doing.

  3. I had a really fun time with the projects. I liked that we got to show everyone who we were representing. Also, I liked to tell people as much as I know about Aung San Suu Kyi. I would change one thing. That is to do it in a couple different rooms so they parents could hear us talking but also so they could listen to everyone. That is because some parents couldn't hear other people. Besides that everything else was fine!

  4. i liked how people did not go away while we were talking. i would change that but it might be hard that we should have separate rooms for each 5th grade class. so people won't say " i already saw he/she over there". i really liked it. it was fun to do.

  5. The thing I like about the presentations is that we got to dress up and make cool backrounds and posters with really no rules just specific things that you had to have.
I wouldn't change anything for the future but one thing I would change is that you should only open it for second third and fourth grade so they now what there doing in the future and so they understand what were talking about. I think it was a brilliant idea of doing this living museam. I had alot of fun and I hope they keep doing it so other kids can have as much fun as I did!

  6. The tings I liked about the 5th grade presentations are that we got to dress up and look all silly. Also we got to make cool back grounds. I think I would like to change for 5th grade classes is to put them in side the building because in middle school there is no portables. Also you should have more (different) classes so incoming 5th graders can be more prepared from switching place to place. Having a certain amount of time.

  7. I loved presenting my biography! I loved telling people all about my person that I did so much work on! I got a lot of compliments and people saying about how they had read Laura Ingalls Wilder's books. I liked how the little kids were trying so hard to pay attention while I was talking. I would do it exactly the same in future years. It was so fun presenting my biography person!!

  9. I loved doing the living museum presentation's. I liked it because it was cool that we got a chance to dress up as the person. It was also fun because we got to pretend we were the person we choose. If I was an upcoming 5th grader then I would definitely be excited about this project. one thing I would improve is the parents and student's should have to sign up on a sign up sheet who's person they want to here about. Thats all i would change about the presentations next year.

  11. What I like about the presentations is they were so cool because we got to dress up like the person and we had to make a very detailed speech. I was a little scared when the parents came in. I was scared because I didn't know a lot of them. Something that could be changed next year is have them present in front of the 5th graders before anyone else. Also, have them have more props involved.

  12. i liked that a lot of people wanted to here my speech. i also liked presenting my speech. but it got tiring saying it a lot. i think you should change the space between the people. But i think you should keep how long the speech is. 2 or less minutes.

  13. i liked how many people liked to listen to mine. they were so excited to see a native American. they really like my spear and bow to. i would not change anything for the future with fifth graders.i liked it how it was.

  14. I liked that my friends and my friends parents came and saw my project. Also, other people I don't know pressed my button. I wold change the organizing of the presentations. i think they should be more in time organization.that is what I like and what I think should be changed for the living museum project.

  15. I liked that we got to act like the people. Also you got to dress up like the person you were doing. The things I would like to change are the “hero” part. They should be able to do any famous person. Not a hero of historically significant. Then the paragraph should persuade the person why they are famous.

Reading a play is WAY more different than reading a book. One reason is that is probably shorter than the book you are reading. And two, they are harder to read when performing or practicing instead of a regular book. It's harder because you don't read the whole play out loud, only your part. But you HAVE TO read the whole play in your head so you can remember where you are in the play. BUT, you don't have to read it all in your head if you have your play memorized.

  18. I liked being able to dress up and make posters. I would change the fact that you could have note cards. For one reason, people looked bored when I stared at the note card, but when I memorized it more they were suddenly more interested. You definitely have to do that next year. It was so much fun!

  21. I really enjoyed doing the "Living Museum" it was really fun! To tell you the truth I say you really shouldn't change anything! Everything was PERFECT! I like the fact that you could be anyone! Also I like that it was fun and simple. But now that i think about it maybe you should put up signs advertising the people in the middle of the cafeteria.
