My book is called Holes the author is Louis Sachar. It is about a kid named Stanley he has to go to Camp Green Lake because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. they thought he stole a pair of shoes but he didn't.He has to dig a hole that is five feet deep and five feet long.A part of my book his friends stole sun flower seeds. Stanley took the blame and Stanley got in big trouble.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book Replay by Sharon Crteetch.I feel excited and happy about the groups and meetings.This book is great so far.I find all of the jobs easy to understand and easy to work with.Theres this boy named leo but everyone either calls him sardine or fogboy.They call him sardine because when he was little he went to a corner and said he was a little sardine squished in a can.they call him fogboy because he always daydreams and fogs out.So one day leo (fogboy) when into the attic and found his dads journal or diary of when he was a kid.Also one thing you should know about this book is that his parents dont appriciate him or they arent really nice to him.So one day leo aditioned for a play and he want the part as rumpopo but got the part as the old crone.I predict what will happen next is the play will go on and there is a peoblem with the play or fogboy will fogot and ruine the play.
ReplyDeleteI feel realy good about my group and our meetings. I find that the jobs are realy easy. it all started in 3 grade when Nick turned his class room into a beachand his teacher liked it. And now in 5 grade his teacher is the scary,mean,old,and weird Mrs.Granger. And Nick did something bad so Mrs. Granger made him do a report on the dictionary. And his report was good and wasted most of class time. But Mrs. granger made every one do all there work in the last 8 minutes of class.And then after school Nick found a pen on the ground that was his friends and made the word frindle. My book is Frindle and the author is Andrew Clements.
ReplyDeleteMy book is The Cay. The Author is Theodor Taylor. I am felling good in the meetings because everybody is on the same pages so we all know what happened. I find the jobs easy to understand. So far in my book a boy named Phillip is on a island and has to leave because world war two is going on. Then they are on the ship to go to Miami then get on a train to were they live.
ReplyDeleteHowever on the boat they get torpedoed and they have to go on rafts and Phillip gets separated from everyone else and he hits his head on mettle and drifts though the water to and island and finds a guy named Timothy. Timothy has an idea to keep drifting but they land on a Cay, and he calls his cat bad luck. On the Cay Phillip goes blind and figures out how to feel around the Cay.
The book that i am reading is Heat by Mike Lupica. the main character is Michael. Michael has a brother named Carlos and a friend named Manny. Michael's parents died and they live by them selves. Michael and Carlos want to keep it a secret that their parents died. If people find out about that, then Mrs.c might be their foster parents. Michael also plays baseball and when Michael and Manny are throwing the ball around this girl keeps showing up and Michael likes the girl.
ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called Champ for literature circles by Marcia Thornton Jones. In my book I have read that a border collie named Champ got in a car crash and survived but had to get one leg cut off. Also,when his owner Mrs.Lener sees him she got so upset she was going to put him down because he is a show dog and he can't preform with only three legs. when Riley herd that he took him in. i predict that Champ will be really hard to take care of.

My book is The Cay by Theadore Taylor it is about a boy named Phillip who gets stranded on an island with a black man named Timothy a cat and just enough food and water to survive. He left his island because the Germans where attacking the island of Curacao so his mother wants to go back to the states so on their third day they got torpedoed. that is how he end up on this island with this stubborn black man.
ReplyDeleteWhen they abandoned ship he lost his mother he also injured his head pretty soon he goes blind and relys on Timothy to survive.
The book I'm reading for literature circles is repay by Sharon Creech. The genre is Fiction. So far its about this boy named Leo,he's in a school pay and,he gets the part as the Old Crone. If you were wondering that is just another way to say old lady. His dad gets a little upset because he's playing an old lady and his younger brother is on the football team. That's all I learned about Leo so far I cant wait to learn more about him.
ReplyDeleteMy book is called Heat and the author is Yike Lupica. It is about a kid named michel who is an amazing basball player who is 12 years old and pitch it 80 MPH. His mom and his dad or dead and he lives with his 17 year old brother. If the cops find out he doesnt have any perents than he might gett seoerated from his brother and move to A foster home in less hes brother turns 18. Michel really wants to go to the little leage world series. This is a very good book in my opinon.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading Rules by Cynthia Lord. It's about a girl named Catherine and has an autism brother. She just got new neighbors! Now Catherine is worrying if her new neighbors are going to like her. Another part of the story is when Catherine is writing letters to Jason because he wants to communicate with her. It all turns into an awesome book. I love this book!
I predict that the end is going to be a good one. I think catherine is going to be friends with Kristi. I believe it will be a good ending!
ReplyDeleteMy book is called Big Red by Jim Kjelgaard. I am feeling good about it, its pretty easy because I'm getting used to it. But it is also hard because I'm not that interested in the book. Also, I defiantly think the jobs are easy to understand. Especially because in the packet there is a description for each one! Now I will tell everyone about what I have read so far. Danny has meet a dog named red, they love each other. It happens to be a show dog. Mr.Haggin (the dog owner) brings Danny to New York to see Red perform. He wins first place. Danny returns home to his pappy named Ross they teach Red how to hunt. But Danny gets very worried. That is all I have read so far!

ReplyDeleteMy book is The Cay(in fancy writing) by Theodore Taylor. So far I get everything (jobs, the book, ect.). My book is about a kid named Phillip who lives on a small island called Curacao and soon the island gets invaded by Germans. Phillips mom soon decides that she and Phillip need to leave. A couple of days after Phillip and his mom get on the ship, the ship get torpedoed. Phillip and his mom get separated and Phillip gets knocked out and when he awoke he was on a ship with an ugly old black man named Timothy. After 2 days on the ship Phillips head injury makes him blind and once they get to the island he can't see at all. Soon both Timothy and Phillip become very aware of the island. That's were I'm now. I predict that soon an aircraft will come and rescue Phillip and Timothy.

ReplyDeleteMy book is Big Red by Jim Kjelgaard. So far in my book this boy Danny who finds Mr.Haggin's dog Red. Red runs after a bear to save Danny, and danny has to follow him. Mr.Haggin thinks Danny loves Red alot so he lets Danny come to a dog show Red will be in. Red ends up winning the dog show. Mr.Haggin lets Danny take care of Red for a few days. The next day Danny takes Red out for a walk, and red starts going after small animals and, birds. One of Mr.Haggin's friends wanted to take Red but He smelled so bad she didn't take him. I think what is going to happen next is, Mr.Haggin will let Danny keep Red forever. I also think Red will stop dog shows and be just a hunting dog. I thnk I am feeling good about my group meeting because we always know what the answers are to are other group members questions and we work good together. I think the jobs are easy to under stand because I understand my book so it is easier.

Martin.A mother dog named Stream gives birth to five puppies.Two were dead already,one died two hours after birth and the last two are named Bone and Squirrel.A gun shot is heard and a careless fox named Mine is the victim.One day mother goes out for food never to return.Life is going good for them until one day they are found by a young boy named Matthias but become friends.Bone decides to leave the shed one day to find a new life and Squirrel follows.They are soon found by a couple named Marcy and George but are bad so they dumped out of a car and injured.Bone gets taken by a girl but not Squirrel.She has a shelter in the woods for a long time and meets a friend named moon.They travel a long time and come to rest stop.A pack of evil dogs come and injure them but they get away and decide to settle in for the night in a deers nest.I think that Moon will die and Squirrel will meet a new and evil friend.

ReplyDeletei am reading shades of gray by Carolyn reeder me and my group work well together. and i do not find the work hard. what happens is wills family all died. so now he lives with his aunt uncle and cousin in Virginia. he does not like his uncle because he thinks he is a coward. he thinks he is a coward because he did not fight in the war. now he has to do a lot of fishing hunting and farmwork.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading Replay by Sharon Creech.I like working with the groups.This story is about Leo went upstairs to his attic and saw a box and opened the box and in the box was a pair o0f tap dancing shoes.Leo started dancing up in the attic and when his mom was downstairs she heard Leo dancing so Leos mom got papa, papa went upstairs and saw Leo tap dancing papa was so MAD he took Leo by the ear and Leo was grounded.While Leo was getting pulled by the ear he had this book called "age of thirteen"papa put Leo in his room and Leo stared looking at it.
ReplyDeletemy group is very funny and sometimes meetings are fun. i find all the jobs easier to understand except super summarizer because it is hard to get 5 most important events in your book.

ReplyDeleteI am feeling good about the group meetings that my group us doing. we have good discussions and we are letting every body talk at once. Also we are letting everybody in the group talk about the same amount.

ReplyDeleteMy book is called Frindle by Andrew Clements and i like the book so far. nick is the main character.Him and his teacher Mrs.Grager and they don't really like each other. Mrs.Grager gives the students a project to make a word up. on the day it is due nick is very nerves when he goes up to share the teacher likes it. But then everyone starts using frindle as a word and then she says that "any one who is using frindle they have to stay after school and write a pen is a pen not frindle 100 times".

ReplyDeleteI have been reading the book called Rules by Cynthia Lord. So far Rules is about a girl named Catherine and a boy named David but, David is no ordinary boy, he has autism. Catherine wants David to be normal like everybody else so, she is trying to make up a bunch of rules that he has to follow. I am at the part where Catherine is at OT (occupational Therapy) with David and another boy named Jason that also has a illness similar to David. With Jason's illness he can not speak or walk so his is pushed around in a wheelchair. He also has a speech book that contains words of interest that Jason has to point to in order to speak. Well the day Catherine was at OT Jason wanted to know how it felt when you run. Catherine took Jason out into the parking lot and ran him around in the wheelchair so he could feel how it feels like to run. I really like the group that I am in. My prediction is that one day scientists will find a cure for autism ( in the book) and David will be normal. I also find the jobs to be very easy

I fell good about my book. Some of the work that we have to do are easy and some are hard. I predict that there will be another girl at the end of thew book that comes in.

This story is about Leo went up to his attic and saw and box and then he opened it and there was a pair of tap dancing shoes so Leo put the shoe on and started dancing and Leos mom heard that sound so she got papa and he saw Leo wearing his tap dancing shoes papa got so MAD papa took Leos ear and while papa was holding Leos ear Leo had papas book called"age of thirteen".I wonder if papa will let Leo use his shoes.

ReplyDeleteYes David does get made fun of but, mostly by this one bully named Ryan. In one part Catherine is with Ryan and her neighbor Kristi. Well Ryan wants to give everybody a piece of gum but he gives David a empty piece and David starts crying, so Catherine has to give David her piece of gum
