Middle School Here We Come!

We are moving into the last half of 5th grade!  In just a few short months you will be going to middle school!

Your teachers will begin talking to the middle school about your transition and you will have a chance
to visit both Oakdale Middle School and TJ Middle School very soon.  As you think ahead to the
next chapter of your school years answer the following questions:

1.  Do you feel prepared academically?
2.  What concerns or questions do you have about middle school?
3.  What could your elementary school teachers do to help you feel ready?
4.  Do you know what to expect in middle school?

Answer these questions in complete sentences and include any additional questions or concerns you have.

Weekly Reader's Response Due Monday 1/10/11

There are few times in school when you actually get to learn about something you are truly interesed in...
well, now is your chance! 

As we begin looking for topics that you are interested in researching for our next research projects, think about events in history that you have heard of and may want to learn more about, or a person you find fascinating but don't know much about.  Maybe there is a hobby you have but you don't know much about its history or how it has changed over time.  These are all great ways to find a topic that you can become an expert in.

In a 5-8 sentence paragraph write about some topics that you may want to research further and why you think the topic may or may not be easy to find information about.
